Start

My name is Johnny; I am an electrical engineer. I graduated with a BSEE in spring of 2009 and currently work designing automated test equipment. Most of my time is spent developing new circuits, implementing sensors, and designing PCBs. Fun!

Over the past year I have accidentally fallen into a "mentor" type role for an intern and a couple of technicians. I think this is because I am very quick to let on how much I love jokes? This combined with my own (admittedly limited) experience has shown me that there is a need for "what is an engineering job like" to be documented. This blog is an attempt to do that.

I have accumulated a sizable list of projects and need a system of holding myself accountable that applies more pressure than moving the idea1234.txt file from the "//IDEAS" folder to the desktop. This blog is an attempt to do that.

To be totally honest, there are just SO many super cool engineering related things to talk about, and my friends and family have finite patience when the discussion turns to hacking coffee pots and cat mounted gps loggers.
